Faith Baptist Church exists to glorify God as disciple makers who worship upwardly, inwardly, and outwardly.
Our Beliefs
The ScripturesWe believe that the Holy Bible as originally written was verbally inspired and the product of Spirit-controlled men, and therefore has truth without the admixture of error for its matter. We believe the Bible to be the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions be tried. 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21.
The True GodWe believe in one God, eternally in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Exodus 20:2-3; 1 John 5:7. We believe in, the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ: that He was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary and is true God and true man. 1 John 5:20; John 1:1-2.
The Devil (or Satan)We believe in the distinct personality of Satan, that he is the god of this age, author of all the powers of darkness and sin, and is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the Lake of Fire. Matt. 4:1, 3; Rev. 20:10.
CreationWe believe that God created the heavens and the earth, including all life, each after its own kind by direct act and not by the process of evolution. We believe that the institution of marriage was ordained by God as a part of His creation of the world. We believe that marriage is a joining together by God of one man and one woman. We believe that homosexual marriage and other deviant sexual practices are contrary to Scripture and the intentions of God in creation. Genesis 1, 2; Leviticus 20:10-21; Proverbs 2; Matthew 19:3-6; John 1:3; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 5; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; Ephesians 5:22-33.
The Fall of ManWe believe that man, in the person of the first Adam, was created in innocence, but by voluntary transgression fell into sin, thus plunging the whole race into condemnation and death, so that all mankind is born in sin and shapen in iniquity and become practical sinners. Gen. 3; Rom. 5:10-19.
The Atonement for SinWe believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. Acts 16:30-33; Rom. 10:9-13; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. We believe that all who take Christ as their Savior are born from above and are eternally secure in Christ. John 10:28-29; Rom. 8:35-39.
The ChurchWe believe that the Church universal is a New Testament institution; unknown to the Old Testament prophets; established by Jesus Christ; Who is its sole Head; revealed through the holy Apostles; empowered and perpetuated by the Holy Spirit; composed of believers in Jesus Christ as Savior, both Jew and Gentile, called out from the world and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8, 2:1-8; Matt. 16:18. We believe that the Church universal is manifest through the local Church, which is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws and directed by the Holy Spirit. 1 Tim. 3:15; Matt. 18:15-17; 1 Cor. 1:2.
The OrdinancesWe believe that there are two church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water and is properly called "Believer's Baptism." The Lord's Supper is the commemoration of our Lord's death until He comes. Acts 8:36-39; 1 Cor. 11:23-32.
The Righteous and WickedWe believe in the everlasting felicity of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost. Rom. 6:17-23; John 8:12.
The Return of ChristWe believe in the bodily, personal, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ; that He will come before the seven year tribulation period to catch away His church, coming only in the air, and He will come with His church at the close of the tribulation to judge the living nations and to set up His kingdom. 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 19:11-21.
The ResurrectionWe believe in the resurrection of the bodies of the dead; that believers who sleep in Jesus will be raised at the coming of Christ for His church and caught up with transformed living saints to meet the Lord in the air, that the wicked dead will be raised at the close of the Millennial Kingdom and stand in their bodies at the Great White Throne judgment to receive their final doom. John 5:21-30; 1 Thess. 4:16; Rev. 7:9-17; Rev. 20:11-15.
